ルピ・クーアはニューヨークタイムズのベストセラー作家であり、詩人であり、パフォーマーでもあります。
クーアが21歳の時に執筆し、自分で挿絵も描いた自費出版『ミルクとはちみつ』はニューヨークタイムズのベストセラーとなり、文学界に旋風を巻き起こしました。その後、さらに3冊のベストセラーを出版し、42ヶ国語以上に翻訳されて1100万部以上を売り上げています。『ニューリパブリック』誌で「10年に1人の作家」と評され、『フォーブス』誌の「世界を変える30歳未満の30人」に選出されました。執筆活動以外にも、クーアはAmazon Primeで初の詩の特別番組「Rupi Kaur Live」を自主制作しました。また、2022年トロント国際映画祭で初公開された長編映画「This Place」のエグゼクティブプロデューサーも務めています。最近では、2023年サンダンス映画祭で初公開され、現在Amazon Primeで視聴できる、リース・ウィザースプーンの「Hello Sunshine」と短編映画「Rise」で自作の詩を朗読しています。
