Giovanna’s approach to creating with crystals is, in a word, bold, letting the stones speak for themselves and styling them to harness their natural inner light. And to play with color. ‘For me, color is very important for the collection and something that I personally love,’ explains Giovanna. ‘The beauty is that it’s already embedded into the crystal itself.’
Creative Direction
In 2020, Swarovski engaged a company-wide Creative Director for the first time in its history. Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert's inaugural collection, Collection I, featured necklaces, earrings, rings, and body chains, with an emphasis on color and geometry. It was named after Article No. 1, the first crystal Daniel Swarovski ever sketched, and was inspired by his hand drawings of crystals.

For almost 130 years, Swarovski has turned heads on the red carpet and runways. From Oliver Rousteing’s first haute couture collection for Balmain to McQueen’s Swarovski Crystal Catsuit for the Deliverance show, technical innovation and savoir-faire keeps Swarovski at the forefront of fashion. When Donatella Versace was asked what Swarovski Crystals added to her unmistakable designs, she replied: ‘They add magic to every fabric.’
Swarovski e Dior: Partner di stile

La storia di Swarovski nel mondo dello spettacolo risale a quasi cento anni fa, ai primi tempi di Hollywood, quando i suoi cristalli debuttarono nel film di Marlene Dietrich Venere bionda (1932). Facciamo un salto in avanti fino al 2023 e al Renaissance World Tour di Beyoncé, quando l'iconica cantante ha aperto la sua performance ad Amsterdam con un look mozzafiato di Iris van Herpen, personalizzato e impreziosito da migliaia di Swarovski Crystals.
Swarovski Rocks
Attraverso le epoche del rock and roll, Swarovski ha condiviso con orgoglio il palcoscenico con molti leggendari showmen, creando costumi decadenti e favolosi per Elvis, Elton John e i Queen. Nel 1972, il costumista di Elvis Presley scelse gli Swarovski Crystals per catturare la luce, creando la più famosa tuta bianca scintillante della storia della musica. Elton, un appassionato di paillettes, piume e abiti tempestati di cristalli, collaborava regolarmente con lo stilista Bob Mackie e insieme la coppia creò decine di costumi spettacolari che avrebbero definito l'identità visiva di Elton fino al suo ultimo tour.
