Hoewel we die principes tot op de dag van vandaag als richtlijn gebruiken, erkennen we dat we veel meer moeten doen om de schade van mensen op het milieu te beperken.

Uitstoot van broeikasgassen
Het is alom bekend dat de menselijke uitstoot van broeikasgassen de grootste rol speelt bij de destabilisatie van ons klimaat. We hebben ons aangesloten bij het Science Based Targets-initiatief (SBTi) om de opwarming van de aarde tegen te gaan, zodat we een duidelijk pad kunnen volgen om onze uitstoot te verminderen.
We doen het volgende:
• Een vermindering van 47% van de uitstoot van broeikasgassen onder scope 1 en 2, en van 28% van de uitstoot onder scope 3 tegen 2030, met 2019 als uitgangsjaar.

에너지 효율성을 높이고 온실가스 배출량을 줄이며 최대한 재생 에너지원으로 전환하려는 노력의 일환으로, 우리는 제조 현장 및 사무 공간에서 태양광 사용을 확대하는 것을 목표로 합니다. 우리는 오스트리아 바텐스에 두 번째로 규모가 큰 태양광 발전 시스템을 설치해 1,600m2 면적에 300kWp를 제공합니다. 이전에는 태국의 수작업 공장에 1400kWp 시스템과 인도에 태양열 루프탑 온수 시스템을 설치했으며, 그 밖에도 더 많은 태양광 설비가 파이프라인에 갖춰져 있습니다.
유리 용해로 설계 연구

Swarovski는 최근 브랜드 전환의 일환으로 신규 매장 컨셉을 내놓았습니다. 이 컨셉은 기존 매장에 비해 훨씬 적은 에너지를 소비합니다. 또한 신규 GLEAM 표준(엔지니어링, 아키텍처 및 관리 지침)은 강화된 내부 아키텍처 프로토콜에 밑바탕이 되어 신규 개점 및 보수 공사가 개선된 에너지 효율성과 지속 가능한 소재를 사용해 분석 데이터를 통한 포괄적인 설계 및 스마트 IoT 관리를 통합할 수 있습니다. 일반적으로 Swarovski의 모든 플래그십 매장은 계속해서 전체 LEED 인증(에너지 및 환경적 디자인 리더십)을 받고 있습니다.

Reignited Crystals
Title:
Swarovski Crystals are precious resources that we don’t want to waste. Our reignited crystals initiative allows us to give unused crystals another chance to be adored, instead of being discarded. We hold on to any unsold crystals for as long as possible and are committed to ensuring that they are used for their intended purpose.
We believe in the positive, transformational power of collaboration, and through our conscious design projects and partnerships we donate reignited crystals to world renowned academic institutions, upcoming designers, and established names to use in their designs. Our aim is to encourage them to use this exquisite material creatively while also raising awareness of the importance of sustainable design and waste as a valuable resource.
In 2021 we partnered with Viktor&Rolf, who integrated reignited crystals into their FW21 Haute Couture collection, and Kevin Germanier, who created his SS22 collection using reignited crystals and sustainable materials. We also collaborated with Germanier to design a recycled perfume bottle for Guerlain encrusted with reignited crystals.

Efficiencies in Production

We constantly invest in systems to improve our water usage and reduce chemical use in our crystal-cutting processes. In our main crafting facility in Wattens, Austria, our closed-loop wastewater treatment system cleans and recycles 98% of the water from our crystal polishing process, and 88% of the water from our crystal grinding process.
At our production facility, also located in Wattens, we use a cooling lubricant circuit to aid the cutting of crystals. The circuit holds 1,200 m3 of liquid and requires the careful addition of relevant chemicals to ensure its optimum performance and stability. From 2015 to 2021, we halved the amount of cooling lubricant used. We have also been able to completely, or partially, remove a number of chemicals from the process, including kit agent precipitant and defoamer, and we re-engineered our corrosion inhibitor to omit phosphorous.
All of these improvements are a result of innovation rather than reduced production, and they have had safety benefits for our colleagues, too.
