Daniel Swarovski met au point une machine révolutionnaire capable de tailler les cristaux avec une précision inégalée jusqu’alors.
1900
Daniel conçoit une première série de diagrammes - Article 1 à 6 - qui établit un lexique des tailles de cristal. Il apporte ce répertoire à Wattens en Autriche, terre natale de Swarovski, donnant naissance aux premiers cristaux de la production. Les Articles 7 à 12 composent son second lexique de tailles originales.

Années 50
Swarovski noue des partenariats avec les grands couturiers, séduits par les possibilités créatives de ses matériaux en perpétuelle évolution. Inspiré par un voyage d’observation des aurores boréales, Daniel met au point un traitement qui reproduit les nuances changeantes de ce spectacle naturel. Christian Dior devient le premier créateur à adopter cet effet en l’intégrant dans l’une de ses dernières collections de 1957.
Années 1970
Un technicien de l’usine de Wattens assemble des fragments de lustre pour créer une souris en cristal, qui devient la toute première figurine Swarovski. D’abord offerte à 1 000 employés de la Maison, elle rencontre un tel succès qu’elle est commercialisée lors des XIIe Jeux olympiques d’hiver à Innsbruck en 1976. Cette popularité donne naissance à une nouvelle gamme de figurines inspirées de la nature.
1980
Swarovski noue un partenariat privilégié avec le Palais de Versailles en recréant un somptueux lustre en cristal destiné à éclairer la Chambre du Roi Soleil. Cette œuvre marie l’élégance du 17e siècle à l’innovation contemporaine grâce à ses bougies LED en cristal qui reproduisent fidèlement l’éclat des flammes d’antan, sublimant l’atmosphère des appartements royaux.
1989
En 1989, Swarovski dévoile une ligne couture baptisée collection Daniel Swarovski Paris, en hommage à son fondateur. Cette gamme raffinée intègre des cristaux et ne propose que des créations en série limitée.
1995
Pour célébrer le centenaire de la marque, les Mondes de Cristal Swarovski (Kristallwelten), ouvrent leurs portes à Wattens, en Autriche. L’artiste multimédia André Heller a imaginé un univers unique et féerique qui séduit des millions de visiteurs venus du monde entier. Ce lieu rend hommage aux cristaux dans toute leur splendeur transformatrice, et chaque année, de nouvelles collaborations artistiques, notamment au sein de la Chambre des Merveilles, repoussent les limites de la créativit..
Le Géant
André Heller a imaginé le Géant comme élément central des Mondes de Cristal Swarovski, créant autour de cette figure l’histoire d’un être colossal parti explorer l’univers du cristal et découvrir ses richesses et ses merveilles.
2004
Swarovski apporte sa magie scintillante aux fêtes de fin d’année en couronnant le légendaire sapin de Noël du Rockefeller Center. Première de ce qui deviendra une tradition annuelle, l’étoile Swarovski de 2004 mesure trois mètres d’envergure et compte 25 000 cristaux blancs étincelants. Une touche de magie en plus pour le mythique panorama new-yorkais.
2007
Die 79. Oscar-Verleihung zeigte dem Publikum die wahre Bedeutung von Brillanz. Erstmals bildet ein funkelnder Kristallvorhang die Kulisse für die Hollywood-Stars. Der Swarovski Kristallvorhang ist 10 Meter hoch, wiegt über eine Tonne und besteht aus 50.000 einzelnen Kristallen.
2013
Gabriel Lüster
Title:
Swarovski hat sich mit Ronan und Erwan Bouroullec zusammengetan, um den Gabriel Kronleuchter zu kreieren, ein permanentes Kunstwerk, das den Haupteingang des Schlosses Versailles erleuchtet. Mit einer Höhe von über 12 Metern und 800 Swarovski Kristallen, die durch leuchtende LEDs innovativ beleuchtet werden, ist dieses moderne und zugleich majestätische Kunstwerk sowohl eine technische Meisterleistung als auch eine bleibende Hommage an die Kristallluster, die einst die Prunkräume des Palastes schmückten.

Swarovski Foundation

Eine Kristallwerkstatt des 21. Jahrhunderts eröffnet in Wattens, Österreich. Die Swarovski Manufaktur ist ein Ort der Inspiration, Co-Kreation, Handwerkskunst und des Savoir-faire. Sie fördert Innovationen durch neue Technologien und vereint visionäre kreative Prozesse.
2019
Swarovski entwickelt eine neue Kristallart für die Gestaltung von sechs Brunnen auf den Champs-Élysées.ÉLichtéSwarovski Kristalle funkeln in Paris. Die rotierenden Installationen der Brüder Bouroullec präsentieren 3.060 Kristalle in einem traumhaften Spiel aus Bewegung und Licht.

Die Swarovski Foundation gibt ihr neues Programm „Creatives for Our Future“ bekannt, ein globales Mentoring- und Förderprogramm, das in Zusammenarbeit mit einem Berater des Büros der Vereinten Nationen für Partnerschaften entwickelt wurde, um die nächste Generation kreativer Führungskräfte im Bereich Nachhaltigkeit zu identifizieren und zu fördern.
2021
Dieses Jahr markiert eine mutige neue kreative Vision mit der Ernennung des ersten Global Creative Director des Hauses. Giovanna Engelbert kommt zu Swarovski, um die visuelle Ausdruckskraft und die kreative Sprache der Marke weiterzuentwickeln. Die globale Einführung des neuen sensorischen Store-Konzepts „Instant Wonder“ folgt, zusammen mit einer modernen neuen Ästhetik in den Swarovski Markenfarben und einem optimierten Swarovski Schwan-Logo.
Creators Lab
Ein neues Programm kreativer Kooperationen startet, um die Grenzen von Design und Handwerkskunst zu erweitern und gleichzeitig Swarovski Kristalle zu zelebrieren. Creators Lab ist eine natürliche Entwicklung, die das langjährige Erbe des österreichischen Hauses in den Bereichen Mode, Film, Theater und Musik sowie seine Geschichte der Förderung von Kreativität widerspiegelt. Die ersten Marken, die im neuen Swarovski Creators Lab vertreten sind, sind Nike, MA®KET, Amina Muaddi, Judith Leiber und FAO Schwarz.

Der Stuart Power Shine Pump vereint präzise Handwerkskunst mit extravagantem Schmuck und präsentiert seinen neuen 75-mm-Stuart-Power-Absatz mit über 6.000 Swarovski Kristallen. Die Wunderkammern in den Kristallwelten werden regelmäßig erneuert. James Turrell – der als Künstler als „Magier des Lichts“ gilt – kreiert mit Umbra eine bewegende Licht- und Farbinstallation, die alle Sinne anspricht.

For the first time ever, Swarovski couture looks are presented at the Met Gala. Friends of the House, Karlie Kloss, Imaan Hammam, and Anok Yai shine in ensembles designed by Global Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert. For the dress code “The Garden of Time”, Giovanna transforms into Nature, Karlie a Flower, Imaan is the Sun, and Anok becomes Water wearing a catsuit teamed with a high jewelry necklace from the Swarovski Created Diamonds Galaxy Collection.

Jean Paul Gaultier and Swarovski collaborate on Falling | In Love, the magical Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin Grand Show. The Berlin-based show is illuminated by 100 million Swarovski Crystals and lights up the extraordinary explosion of colour curated by the celebrity Parisian designer.
