Caring for your Swarovski Crystal

Swarovski Crystal is a delicate material, and our decorations are crafted in a traditional way which means they need to be handled with care. Follow these care instructions to keep your piece looking its best, including how to clean your Swarovski figurines, ornaments, and functional home décor items.

How to Clean Swarovski Crystal Figurines

Follow these steps to clean your crystal decorations and maintain their brilliance:

Wash and dry your hands.

Starting with the base, gently polish your figurine with a lint-free cloth* using small circular motions until you have covered every surface.

Regular, careful cleaning will help your figurines to retain their beautiful shine and remain dust-free.

How to Clean Swarovski Crystal Home Décor

Items such as toasting flutes and vases require more intensive cleaning in order to remove any residue.

Wash and dry your hands.

Fill a large, clean bowl with lukewarm water (around 30°C) and add mild, pH neutral dish detergent. Do not use boiling water as it may damage your piece.

Hold your Swarovski piece in one hand. Use the other hand to gently rinse the entire product, including the base, without fully submerging it.

Rinse with clean water, taking care to remove any traces of soap.

Dry the inside and outside of the piece thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth*.
*A lint-free cloth is a special type of cleaning cloth that does not release any fluff. You can purchase these cloths online, in hardware stores, or in some supermarkets.

More Care Tips to Keep your Swarovski Decorations at their Best

Some of our larger decoration pieces are delivered with a pair of white cotton gloves. These gloves should be worn when handling these products to protect the crystals and avoid leaving fingerprints.

Ensure that hanging ornaments are placed in a secure position where they cannot fall or come into contact with hard objects.

Avoid soaking products in water: keep contact with water to a minimum, and always dry products thoroughly immediately after washing.

Make sure that your decorations do not come into contact with harsh, abrasive materials or glass cleaners, as these can damage the crystals.
