În mitologia greacă, Pegas, calul înaripat, lovește pământul cu copitele pentru a crea izvorul inspirației artistice, din care beau toți poeții și alți literați. Sculptura se sprijină pe baza în trei puncte a piesei. Picioarele din spate și coada au fost o realizare tehnică la acel moment.

It dwells in a secret, safe place, like something semi-transparent whose presence is illusive. That’s the way it is with a unicorn – you can never be entirely sure whether it is there.
