In celebration of this year’s Met Gala theme “Costume Art”, Swarovski presented three one-of-a-kind couture creations as imagined by Global Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert. Unified by the idea of crystal as art itself, each design honored the House’s infinite savoir-faire and protagonist role in pop culture by exploring the relationship between artist, muse, and finished work of art. The looks seamlessly integrated Swarovski jewelry silhouettes to reflect the unique identity and personal history of their wearers.
Mesmerizing Muses
Venus Williams
Title:
Sleek, sculptural, and rich in symbolism, tennis icon Venus Williams’ black crystal-encrused gown radiated power and timeless beauty. The look drew from her Robert Pruitt portrait and the necklace Venus wore in the artwork, referencing her family, sports achievements, and roots in Compton, was faithfully recreated in sterling silver, hand-set with 3,800 Swarovski Zirconia and Crystals. The ensemble carried a sense of presence befitting her status as Met Gala co-chair while remaining deeply connected to her personal story.
Ejae
Title:
奧斯卡獲獎創作歌手 EJAE 穿著一件受到新古典主義大理石雕像、韓國傳統工藝以及水晶純淨特質影響的禮服，致敬 Swarovski 的首款水晶切割工藝 Article One。該設計把古典美與 EJAE 的文化身分融合，採用水晶細網眼裙擺，以及以及運用結合珠寶工藝與刺繡技術鑲嵌而成的馬甲設計。這套造型搭配融入 Constella 與 Una Angelic 靈感的訂製肩飾，並由靈感源自韓國傳統髮簪 binyeo 的精緻髮飾畫龍點睛。
Giovanna Engelbert

為了向創作背後的工藝致敬，Giovanna Engelbert 選擇把「過程」穿在身上，而非最終的成品。她的造型禮讚製作工藝之美，將帶有外露結構線條的馬甲，與水晶網紗罩裙下的多層歐根紗襯裙相結合，並以 Hyperbola 與 Matrix 系列細節點綴。這款與 Stephen Jones 合作打造的頭飾，透過描繪藝術家的調色盤與 Swarovski 天鵝，展現了她作為全球創意總監的身分。
