À l’occasion du thème du Met Gala de cette année, « Costume Art », Swarovski a présenté trois créations couture uniques imaginées par la Directrice Artistique Globale, Giovanna Engelbert. Unies par l’idée du cristal comme œuvre d’art à part entière, chaque création rendait hommage au savoir‑faire infini de la Maison et à son rôle de premier plan dans la pop culture, en explorant la relation entre l’artiste, la muse et l’œuvre finale. Les looks intégraient harmonieusement les silhouettes iconiques de la joaillerie Swarovski afin de refléter l’identité unique et l’histoire personnelle de celles et ceux qui les portaient.

Venus Williams
Title:
Elegante, escultural y rico en simbolismo, el vestido negro incrustado de cristales de la icono del tenis Venus Williams irradiaba poder y belleza atemporal. El look se inspiró en su retrato de Robert Pruitt, y el collar que Venus luce en la obra —en referencia a su familia, sus logros deportivos y sus raíces en Compton— fue recreado fielmente en plata, engastado a mano con 3.800 Swarovski Zirconia y cristales. El conjunto transmitía una fuerte sensación de presencia, acorde con su papel como copresidenta de la Met Gala, al tiempo que permanecía profundamente conectado con su historia personal.

La cantante y compositora ganadora del Óscar EJAE lució un vestido inspirado en las estatuas de mármol neoclásicas, la artesanía tradicional coreana y la pureza del cristal, en un guiño al primer corte de cristal de Swarovski, Article One. Al fusionar la belleza clásica con la identidad cultural de EJAE, el diseño incorporó una falda Crystal Fine Mesh y un corsé incrustado mediante una técnica que combina la artesanía joyera con el bordado. Una pieza de hombro hecha a medida evocó las influencias Constella y Una Angelic, mientras que horquillas ornamentales inspiradas en el binyeo completaron el look.
Giovanna Engelbert

En homenaje a la artesanía que hay detrás de la creación, Giovanna Engelbert eligió vestir el proceso, en lugar de la pieza terminada. Su conjunto celebró el arte de hacer, combinando un corsé con líneas de construcción externas y una falda base de organza en capas, cubierta por un delantal de Crystal Mesh rematado con detalles Hyperbola y Matrix. El tocado, desarrollado junto a Stephen Jones, habló de su papel como Directora Creativa Global al representar tanto la paleta de un artista como el Cisne de Swarovski.
