Actor Marilyn Monroe starred in 34 films - yet one of her most famous appearances was in May 1962, when she sang Happy Birthday to then President John F. Kennedy. For the occasion she wore the unique gown on display in this chamber and which still shines today with over 2,500 Swarovski Crystals. The resulting imagery has provided ceaseless inspiration for Hollywood stars and the fashion industry ever since.
