SCS Livestream
Title:Holiday Cheer for all
Subtitle:On the 4th of December, members tuned in for a truly festive edition of the livestreams. Ann-Sophie Mayr hosted the online event and took members on a trip back into time. Members could discover the evolution of the Annual Edition Ornaments over the past 30 years. To give them a better insight into the inspiration and making of this year`s edition, Michele Blasilli joined in on the journey. The designer guided the audience through key milestones in the evolution of the Annual edition ornament. It all started with an idea proposed by a store consultant 30 years ago in the United States. From then on, each year a snowflake or star ornament has been released. Since 1993 the ornaments have an engraving in the plaque and the inspiration behind each ornament is completely unique. While the 2006 ornament is inspired by the Wiener Werkstätte art movement, this year`s annual edition was inspired by photography and the concept of vortex startrails. Progress in Swarovski`s technological capabilities can also be seen in design elements: since 2012 it was possible to create ornaments without being dependent on a central crystal part, which opened up completely new design possibilities. Ann-Sophie and Michele took the tradition of the Annual Edition ornament to a new level this year: After the interview, viewers found themselves on a trail through the Crystal Worlds gardens, where they could admire art installations by Tord Boontje. The tour ends in the Crystal Worlds patisserie, where members could follow a recipe on how to create their very own Annual Edition Ornament as a cookie version. Finally, members were taken back to their very own living rooms: Based on the feedback received from previous livestreams, fresh decoration ideas around the holiday season were proposed, picking up on current trends. Members got ideas for tropical environments, for minimalist Scandinavian interiors, for small spaces and much more. Towards the end of the livestream, members got a chance to win the 2021 Annual Edition ornament and a special edition poster by showing how well they paid attention to various nuggets of information dropped throughout the event. This year`s Annual edition was created by Michele Blasilli. Did you join the fun? Whether you were there live and want to revisit the best moments or just tuning in now, we`ve got the recording for you right here. Enjoy!
