Which materials and metal finishes are used in Swarovski Jewellery?

Swarovski chooses high-quality materials tailored to each collection.

Fashion Crystal Jewellery features layered metals with a finish in rhodium, ruthenium, 18K gold, or 18K rose gold for lasting brilliance and enhanced resistance to oxidation and discolouration.

Swarovski Jewellery also features precious materials. Classica demi-fine jewellery is crafted from recycled 925 sterling silver, while Swarovski Created Diamonds are set in 18K or 14K gold, or 925 sterling silver.

Do Swarovski sunglasses offer UV protection?

Yes. All Swarovski sunglasses provide 100% UVA and UVB protection, regardless of lens colour or tint. This meets the required global UV protection standard, so you can wear any pair from our collection with confidence.

Our sunglasses use category-rated lenses, which show how much visible light they filter. Category 2 and 3 lenses are the most common in our collection and are suitable for everyday wear and bright outdoor conditions. The lens category for each specific style is listed on the temples of each product.

Why does my Swarovski item's packaging look different from before, or different from another item I've bought?

Our packaging is evolving as part of our ongoing sustainability efforts and our commitment to Swarovski’s legacy of design and craftsmanship. As a result, you may notice differences between items, even within the same category. For example, some pens may come in a pouch, while others are presented in a box. This is not an error – it reflects the stage of the packaging transition for a particular product line and does not affect the product itself or its warranty.

Regardless of the outer packaging, genuine Swarovski products are accompanied by the appropriate authentication and care information.

Are Swarovski products nickel-free?

All Swarovski jewelry complies with the European REACH Regulation 1907/2006, Annex XVII Entry 27 regarding nickel content.

However, allergic reactions may still occur due to interactions between the metals and substances on your skin, such as acidic sweat, hand cream, or sunscreen. To minimize this risk, please remove your jewelry before washing your hands, swimming, or applying cosmetic products like perfume, hairspray, soaps, or lotions. Additionally, remember to clean and polish your jewelry regularly. Following these steps will help reduce the chance of an allergic reaction.

Since 1989, all genuine Swarovski products feature the Swarovski Swan logo. Pieces produced prior to this date have a different logo and, in some cases, it may only be faintly visible or almost impossible to detect.

You will find the following logos on almost all Swarovski crystal and jewellery products: Square Silver Crystal SC logo (1976 – 1988) sCs/SCS logo (Swarovski Crystal Society 1987 – present) Swan logo (1989 – present).

What is Swarovski crystal?

Swarovski produces crystals of the finest quality. The company's name has become synonymous with genuine crystal. Swarovski's specialised manufacturing processes, together with the highest quality raw materials, guarantee the highest possible degree of precision, component quality, consistency and unmatched brilliance. Swarovski crystal is produced at the company’s traditional production plant in Wattens, Austria, where each crystal is subject to the most stringent quality controls. The exact recipe and the proportion of quartzes, sand, and minerals remain a company secret that is part of the legacy of the brand.

Swarovski crystal pearls

The pearls used in the Swarovski Fashion jewellery collection are simulated pearls and are not natural. Crystal Pearls by Swarovski are pearls made with a crystal core. Their unparalleled harmonious and lustrous shimmer is achieved using a unique coating technology developed by Swarovski. It is the first production method in the world to combine the quality of a perfect crystal core with the exquisite beauty of a pearl coating. The innovative technology by Swarovski gives the pearl a mysterious glow, which appears to be radiating from within the pearl itself. The strictest quality controls help ensure the absolute flawlessness of each Crystal Pearl.
