1895
Daniel Swarovski inventa una macchina in grado di tagliare i cristalli con una precisione mai vista prima.
1900
Daniel disegna una sequenza di diagrammi - dall'Articolo 1 all'Articolo 6 - che definiscono un lessico di tagli di cristallo. Daniel porta questo lessico a Wattens, in Austria, paese d'origine di Swarovski, e questi diventano i primi cristalli messi in produzione. Dall'Articolo 7 all'Articolo 12 costituiscono il suo secondo lessico di tagli di cristallo originali.

Anni '50
Swarovski collabora con i couturier, che traggono ispirazione dalle possibilità creative dei suoi materiali in continua evoluzione. Dopo un viaggio per ammirare l'aurora boreale, Daniel crea un rivestimento che emula i colori cangianti del fenomeno naturale. Christian Dior fu il primo stilista a scoprire questo effetto e lo utilizzò in una delle sue ultime collezioni nel 1957.
Anni '70
Un tecnico di fabbrica a Wattens incolla insieme pezzi di ricambio di lampadari per creare un topo cristallizzato, che diventa la prima statuina Swarovski. Inizialmente viene regalato a 1000 dipendenti Swarovski, ma diventa presto così popolare che viene messo in vendita ai XII Giochi Olimpici Invernali di Innsbruck nel 1976. La sua popolarità porta a una nuova linea di figurine ispirate alla natura.
1980
Swarovski dà inizio a una collaborazione duratura con la Reggia di Versailles, ricreando il monumentale lampadario di cristallo che illumina la Camera del Re Sole. Il pezzo presenta un'estetica tipicamente seicentesca: è dotato di innovative candele LED in cristallo, che riproducono fedelmente la fiamma tradizionale, conferendo un'atmosfera unica agli appartamenti reali.
1989
Nel 1989, Swarovski lancia una linea couture chiamata Daniel Swarovski Paris, in onore del suo fondatore. La raffinata collezione è impreziosita da cristalli ed è disponibile in edizione limitata.
1995
Swarovski Crystal Worlds, Kristallwelten, abre sus puertas en Wattens, Austria, para celebrar el centenario de la marca. El artista multimedia André Heller diseñó un lugar único y mágico que atrae a millones de visitantes de todo el mundo. Se rinde homenaje a los cristales en todas sus facetas transformadoras y, cada año, múltiples colaboraciones con artistas, especialmente en la Cámara de las Maravillas, continúan ampliando los límites de la creatividad.
El gigante
La pieza central temática de André Heller para Swarovski Crystal Worlds fue la forma del Gigante, y desarrolló la historia de un gigante que se propuso experimentar el mundo del cristal y todos sus tesoros y maravillas.
2004
Swarovski corona por primera vez el icónico árbol de Navidad del Rockefeller Center. La estrella Swarovski 2004, que anuncia el inicio de una tradición anual, mide tres metros de altura y brilla con 25 000 cristales blancos. Una incorporación mágica a la ciudad de Nueva York.
2007
Los 79.º Premios Óscar muestran al público el verdadero significado del brillo. Por primera vez, una cortina de cristal brillante forma el telón de fondo de las estrellas de Hollywood. La cortina de cristal de Swarovski mide 10 metros de altura, pesa más de una tonelada y consta de 50 000 cristales individuales.
2013
Candelabro Gabriel

Swarovski une fuerzas con Ronan y Erwan Bouroullec para crear el candelabro Gabriel, una obra de arte permanente que ilumina la entrada principal del Palacio de Versalles. Con más de 12 metros de altura y 800 cristales de Swarovski iluminados de forma innovadora con LED, esta pieza contemporánea y majestuosa es una proeza técnica y un tributo a los candelabros cristalizados que históricamente adornaron las salas ceremoniales del Palacio.

La Fundación Swarovski

2018
Se inaugura un taller de cristal del siglo XXI en Wattens, Austria. Swarovski Manufaktur es un espacio para la inspiración, la creación conjunta, la artesanía y el savoir-faire que estimula la innovación mediante el uso de nuevas tecnologías y la alineación de procesos creativos visionarios.
2019
Swarovski desarrolla un nuevo tipo de cristal para crear seis fuentes en los Campos Elíseos de París. Las instalaciones giratorias de los hermanos Bouroullec cuentan con 3060 cristales en una obra de ensueño de movimiento y luz.

New Chambers of Wonder are introduced regularly to Kristallwelten. James Turrell - who as an artist is considered a “magician of light” - creates Umbra, a moving light and color installation that appeals to all the senses.

Swarovski is a protagonist of pop culture, and Swarovski Crystals are sprinkled throughout pop culture history. 2023 is another stellar year for the House as it makes the most creative events, and celebrities, shine.

Doja Cat dazzled at the Schiaparelli Haute Couture SS23 Show, with 30,000 crimson Swarovski crystals hand-applied by makeup artist Pat McGrath. The five-hour process created a stunning transformation, merging aesthetic subversion with pure glamour.

Swarovski Created Diamonds Galaxy Collection
Inspired by the cosmos, The Galaxy Collection is the first Swarovski Created Diamonds fine jewelry collection designed by Global Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert. Each design is crafted from laboratory grown diamonds that are IGI (International Gemological Institute) certified and 100% identical to mined diamonds in every way but origin.

A year of firsts for the House including the appointment of a Global Brand Ambassador, pop icon Ariana Grande, and debuting Swarovski couture looks designed by Giovanna Engelbert at the Met Gala.

The 2024 Met Gala
For the first time ever, Swarovski couture looks are presented at the Met Gala. Friends of the House, Karlie Kloss, Imaan Hammam, and Anok Yai shine in ensembles designed by Global Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert. For the dress code “The Garden of Time”, Giovanna transforms into Nature, Karlie a Flower, Imaan is the Sun, and Anok becomes Water wearing a catsuit teamed with a high jewelry necklace from the Swarovski Created Diamonds Galaxy Collection.

Jean Paul Gaultier and Swarovski collaborate on Falling | In Love, the magical Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin Grand Show. The Berlin-based show is illuminated by 100 million Swarovski Crystals and lights up the extraordinary explosion of colour curated by the celebrity Parisian designer. The hypnotic allure of crystals is unleashed on the world’s largest theatre stage with crystalline gardens filled with flora and fauna forming a shimmering backdrop for a rainbow of bejeweled ensembles.
