壮大なミシシッピ川
Title:川の近くに暮らす
Subtitle:ミシシッピ川は世界の大河の1つです。米国の10州を渡るこの川は、人々の生活に密着し、文化的、経済的、社会的に重要な役割を果たしてきました。現在でも、ミシシッピ川はこの地域の多くのコミュニティの生命線であり、地元の農業を支え、安全な飲料水源を提供し、商業輸送と貿易の重要な動脈として機能しています。
このため、2016年に公式パートナーであるNational Great River Research and Education Center（NGRREC）と提携して、米国を拠点とする初のSwarovski財団Waterschoolプロジェクトを立ち上げる際に最適の地とされました。
The Waterschool USA Program
Title:Located near the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, the Waterschool USA program works with local communities to reconnect students and teachers to their local waterways. The program seeks to raise awareness and understanding of how people living along and within the Mississippi River watershed are connected to and reliant on a healthy, functioning river ecosystem.
By fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the river’s ecological significance through a range of immersive activities, the program also aims to inspire positive change and encourage responsible community engagement – not only for the benefit of local communities, but for the watershed as a whole.
캠프 Waterschool
Title:강 유역 생태학자가 되다
Subtitle:
캠프 Waterschool은 학생, 멘토에게 일주일 간 강 유역의 생태학자로서의 역할에 온전히 집중할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다. 캠프 기간 중에 참가자들은 수질 샘플링, 물가 산책, 우수 배수구 스텐실링, 강 여행, 예술 및 공예, 아웃도어 모험 활동 등 여러 과학적 탐구와 자연 체험 활동에 참가하게 됩니다. 이 같은 활동은 비판적 사고와 보존에 대한 보다 깊은 노력을 촉진하는 데 도움을 줍니다.
교육자 워크숍
Title:수자원 및 환경 인식을 제고하다

매년 Waterschool USA는 일련의 교육자 워크숍을 개최합니다. 이를 통해 교사들이 수자원 관련 주제를 커리큘럼에 통합시키기 위해 필요한 지식, 도구, 리스소를 제공합니다. 워크숍은 교실 학습, 지역사회 과학 이니셔티브를 잇는 다리가 되어 학생들의 호기심을 자극하고 수자원 및 환경 문제에 대한 인식 제고에 도움을 줍니다.

600 students engaged in on-water canoe and paddleboard excursions on the Mississippi and Missouri rivers

80+ teachers provided with water education activity kits
56 schools provided with sanitation and hygiene supplies
It’s not just those on the ground who have made a big impact. In the summer of 2023, Swarovski VIP members had the opportunity to bid on an extraordinary Elephant Hekima sculpture. The winning bid prompted a $15,000 donation – with all proceeds going directly to the Swarovski Foundation Waterschool program in the Mississippi watershed.
