Three Swarovski Waterschool partners took a moment out of their busy schedules to reflect on their personal experience and activities with the Waterschool to date:

Working as a Waterschool coordinator for the past three years has been a great honor and learning opportunity for me. I set strategies and manage an educational process for behavioral change to communities in need. It’s a very deep, valuable exchange, working with students, parents and teachers towards a greater future – and I, too, always return feeling more fulfilled than before.

What I like most about the Waterschool program is that it became a platform for effective learning and action, not only for participating schools but also for much broader communities. This unique program enables students and communities to take action and achieve visible impact in restoring the health of the rivers in China, and contributed to the even larger task of improving our education system, inspiring new ways of thinking about ourselves, and how we relate to each other and the rest of nature.

The Swarovski Waterschool started nearly 20 years ago in Austria and has reached many students since then. I was very impressed when a teacher wrote that she herself participated in Waterschool classes in her youth and now, as a teacher in Vienna, she remembers those classes and asked for teaching material. It made me realize how long the program has existed and just how successfully it has been carried out. It also shows the emotional impact of the Swarovski Waterschool on this woman, which is so vital for continued engagement with the topic.
