A peek in the jewelry box of... Julia

21.02.2014 | Sparkling people

My ideal jewelry combination? A few ready-to-wear pieces from stores like H&M or Urban Outfitters mixed in with a couple vintage gems and some Swarovski, of course! Whether as impulse buys or the fruits of rare treasure hunting excursions, I like to see building my collection as a kind of game.
My theme? It’s like a mini menagerie with my family of little friends – pandas, bees, fishes, and insects are the most common motifs.
My favorite piece? A blowfish! A prototype that I’ve never actually marketed, it’s a precious (and unique) creation that is the jewel of my collection.
My approach to jewelry? Fun yet moving, I really enjoy playing with accessories and they allow me to express my personality. I use my jewelry to inject a bit of girlish charm into my look. Brooches, pendants, and bracelets are my favorite pieces, not necessarily really on-trend, but definitely fun and a bit unusual.
My color scheme? Bright reds, electric blues, and a mixture of chic metallic colors. In winter, these colors are great for brightening up a dark-colored outfit.
And some sparkle? I never go for too over-the-top, ultra glamorous pieces. Instead, I prefer small, subtle touches that add an element of surprise to my everyday look. When I do wear a statement piece, I like to let it shine with a more casual outfit. Like Nathalie Colin, I love something a bit daring and unusual!
