“La présence des choses” – When art meets jewelry

Cécile Bichon’s work is constructed around a “primitive” view of the world, a way of looking at things that takes us away from our rational knowledge and makes us see them as if for the first time. This talented visual artist creates plaster sculptures without modeling or carving the material, but simply by allowing the plaster to flow and solidify into its own shape. In the same way as a dancer’s movements must be effortless to convey emotion, the sculptor’s hand must be invisible in order to give the object its own presence. Seduced by the rich imagination of these sculptures, I would love to bring them into my world. Mini pavé rings placed on these organic stalactite-like shapes would create a wonderfully unexpected landscape. White on white, or black on black – a stunning mirror image.
