During Paris Fashion Week the fashion set descends on the French capital with a variety of bold and edgy looks. The show takes place on the street as much as on the runway. At the start of July, the Pavillon Cambon, located just a few minutes from my office, played host to the hotly anticipated Elie Saab show. Journalists, It girls, artists, and shoppers, all jostling for pole position in the sartorial stakes for style and creativity.
Two key trends that were everywhere:
Ethnic, childlike fluorescents, and ultra-arty style – from vivid pop looks in neon shades to figurative motifs and highly ornamental jewelry.
American style and Parisian chic, classic style codes balancing simplicity and minimalism: mixed metals, a small watch combined with simple, elegant jewelry, or a single statement piece.
