Extravagant choker necklaces are great when stacked and casually intertwined for a fresh jewelry look with real panache. The three symbolic US colors inspired me to make this dessert with Anglo-Saxon roots. A tasty and special treat for this Fourth of July, this is my take on trifle that you can adapt according to your own tastes. Like your stacked necklaces, take a clear bowl and layer the following ingredients: blueberries, blackberries, sliced strawberries, raspberries, and red currants with a light cream made from ⅔ mascarpone and ⅓ fat-free fromage blanc, a spoonful of Amaretto, all whisked with some vanilla sugar. Add one or two layers of ladyfingers covered in the juice of the same fruit, lightly sweetened. Top with piped Chantilly cream and a few red berries to garnish. Refrigerate for a minimum of three hours and enjoy!
