INSPIRATION MEETS INNOVATION

Beauty is all around us; in the streets, in architecture, and in Swarovski’s SS17 collection

“Very often, the inspiration for jewelry can come to me just walking down a Parisian street,” says Swarovski Creative Director Nathalie Colin. What is behind the beautifully crafted jewelry is inspiration and imagination; and special techniques that bring these concepts to life by adding the ability to translate this vision into form.

In 2001, the unique Swarovski technique called Pointiage was born. Its method of precise hand-setting enhances the natural faceting of the crystal, while illuminating both brilliance and unique color effects. “The colors of the Gaia family were inspired by the bright blue and green tones of the modern art museum Centre Pompidou, and the Pointiage technique recalls the rainy cobblestone street just next to the building,” shares Nathalie.

Each crystal is hand-set in our Gaia collection, with color grids in gradation from sparkling turquoise to a dusty baby blue. Set on an emerald toned crystal, the effect is stunning; lustrous and dimensional, with Pointiage adding an instant air of sophisticated artistry.

From the everyday to the extraordinary, the streets to the sky, we look to Nathalie’s advice: “It’s amazing how creativity and beauty are all around us if we just take time to look.”
