RUNWAY TO REAL WAY PART I

Style star and photographer Zanita shows us how to bring the runway trends into every day styles.

The runways give a strong sense of the latest style inspiration, bringing in a new vision for accessories. This season, Swarovski’s one-of-a-kind couture creations embrace the natural world, with crystallized accessories combining organic inspiration with graphic shapes. Fashion expert Zanita joins Swarovski to share her style secrets on how to take that runway inspiration and bring it into every day, wearable looks.

The cascading, crystal icicle covered maximalism of the Swarovski halter inspired many of the silhouettes from Swarovski’s Fall/Winter collection, with pared-down, graphic pieces. Zanita pairs the Funk small and large earrings, whose tiered shape echoes the halter’s wintry design, adding a bit of elegant asymmetry. “If you’re wearing a statement earring, add the next pieces of jewelry to your hands and arms - and not your neck and vice versa,” instructs Zanita. “Let that piece shine alone!”

“I’m so happy that mixing gold and silver together is back in style, such a luxurious combo.” Zanita mixes metals effortlessly, pairing the Crystaldust bracelet with the Crystalline Hours watch, finishing off with the Further and Ethic bangles. Combining a trinity of the Fresh, Funk and Fiction rings, the mix of gold and silver tones play off each other for a dazzling effect. Zanita takes the angled shape of the season and plays it up by pairing the graphic Funk necklace and ring with the supple shapes of the Crystalline watch and classic Fiction ring.

From taking couture-level looks to street casual, Zanita advises, “I think you can transform plain jeans and a white t shirt - by adding a heel and some bold jewelry with plenty of sparkle. The more unexpected, the better!”
